Representatives of Korean companies are invited

The possibility of participation of such Korean companies as Daewoo, Samsung, Hyundai and others was discussed during the Russian-Korean talks in the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources .

The Russian side was represented by Nuritdin Inamov the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources. The Korean side was represented by Roh Yong Woon the Vice -President of the Korean Association of Industry of the Environment under the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea.

During the negotiations N. Inamov invited Korean representatives to take part in the Congress of Environmental Protection. He called Russian and South Korean cooperation in the areas of removal of past environmental damage, recycling and waste management very promising. He also highlighted the need to improve communication among the business community of two countries in order to exchange experiences and technologies in these and other areas of environmental protection.

In return, Yong Woon Roh talked about the work of the association he represents, which includes the largest South Korean companies. One of the association’s responsibilities is to help establish public- private partnerships in the field of environmental protection, including with foreign partners. The Vice — President expressed interest in cooperation in this field. The parties also discussed issues related to preparation for the next meeting of the Russian- Korean Joint Committee to discuss cooperation in the field of environmental protection in December 2013 in Seoul (Republic of Korea).

«We are interested in mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and the development of joint projects aimed at improving the state of the environment» — said N.Inamov.
